Community Support

We at Yukon Group believe that businesses can – and should – serve the public good. This is reflected in our commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR). Within our CSR programme, we strive to support our employees, tackle societal problems, help the most vulnerable and promote culture.

Employee wellbeing

Yukon’s CSR is employee focused. We believe businesses should offer decent jobs that promote professional and personal growth, while ensuring a rich social and cultural life. This is why we continually invest in employees, improve working conditions and host a variety of social initiatives. Yukon’s Pulsar Optic (Latvia) was awarded Socially Responsible Company of the Year in Latvia’s Latgale Region.

Tackling societal problems

Yukon Group is dedicated to tackling pressing societal issues. During the Covid-19 pandemic, we provided significant support to municipalities and health authorities as they battled the virus. We also donated humanitarian aid to migrants crossing the Lithuanian-Belarus border in 2021, giving baby food, hygiene products, winter clothing, medicine and other essentials to those in need.

Helping the most vulnerable

Yukon Group is a sponsor of Red Noses Clown doctors, an NGO that offers emotional and psychological support to children in need of joy and laughter.

We have also assisted a wide variety of charities. These are:

  • SOS Children’s Villages, which takes care of orphans and aids struggling families by ensuring their kids are fed, clothed and capable of achieving a fulfilling future.
  • Youth Line, an NGO providing psychological and emotional assistance to children and teens.
  • The Lithuanian Food Bank. This organisation collects food and other essential items from stores around the country and redistributes it to those in need. By collecting unsold food, they notonly help the vulnerable in our society but combat food waste.
  • Donated equipment to the hospital’s Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy Department.

Supporting communities

Yukon Group has helped to build a monument for Lithuanian partisans in Naujasodės village near Druskininkai (Lithuania).

In Latvia, provided financial support to the charitable organization “Uzticības fonds”, which in December has been holding a charity event “Christmas Miracle” for several years in a row in the city of Daugavpils, within the framework of which various events are organized for children who have already encountered life’s difficulties.

We gifted the Belarusian city Lida a historic monument of the Grand Duke Gediminas of Lithuania.

Yukon Group was also the primary sponsor of the Centre for Autistic Children in Minsk, plus-two secondary schools and two nurseries in Lida. This crucial funding helps maintain and equip the schools with specialised facilities for disabled children. We took part in an initiative by Vera Help Centre providing festive gifts for these children.

Yukon Group has assisted the Belarusian Society for Water Rescue, donating more than 100 daytime binoculars in 2019. The year after, we provided financial assistance and helped organise the first regional children’s judo tournament, known as the Gediminas Cup.

Promoting culture

Yukon is committed to supporting cultural events and projects, especially making them accessible to wider audiences. One key initiative Yukon supported was the Sirenos theater festival, which showcased contemporary global theatre to Lithuanian audience and vice versa. Yukon also sponsored local cultural events: the Druskininkai Summer Theater Festival (SANKRYŽA) and activities of the ballroom dance studio in the Lida District Palace of Culture. Through these efforts, Yukon has helped shape a new culture that is inclusive, diverse and accessible to all.

Supporting the community is a vital part of Yukon’s sense of CSR. By assisting our employees, tackling societal issues, helping the vulnerable and promoting culture we have a positive impact on society. Our community deserves the best.
