At Yukon Group, we believe business should create value not only economically, but also socially. This is the guiding principle behind our corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme. Through CSR, we aim to support our people, respond to urgent challenges in society, protect those who are most vulnerable, strengthen local communities and help culture thrive.
Employee wellbeing
Our CSR approach begins with our employees. We strive to provide stable, meaningful jobs that encourage professional development, personal growth and a healthy work–life balance. We continuously invest in our teams, improve working conditions and organise social and cultural initiatives that strengthen our internal community. This commitment has been recognised externally: Pulsar Optic (Latvia) received the “Socially Responsible Company of the Year” award in Latvia’s Latgale Region.
Tackling societal challenges
Yukon Group is committed to stepping in when society faces pressure. During the Covid-19 pandemic, we provided substantial support to municipalities and health authorities. In 2021, we also delivered humanitarian assistance to migrants arriving at the Lithuanian–Belarus border, donating essential items such as baby food, hygiene products, winter clothing and medicine.
Supporting the most vulnerable
We support organisations that provide care, protection and emotional support to those in need. Yukon Group is a sponsor of RED NOSES Clowndoctors, an NGO bringing psychological and emotional relief to children through humour and human connection.
We also work with a range of charities, including:
-
SOS Children’s Villages, supporting children without parental care and families facing hardship;
-
Youth Line, providing emotional and psychological support to children and teenagers;
-
The Lithuanian Food Bank, collecting and redistributing essential goods while also reducing food waste;
-
and support for healthcare institutions, including donations of equipment to rehabilitation and physiotherapy services.
Strengthening communities
We contribute to local communities in practical and lasting ways. In Lithuania, Yukon Group supported the construction of a monument to Lithuanian partisans in Naujasodės village near Druskininkai.
In Latvia, we provided support to the charity “Uzticības fonds”, which has organised the annual “Christmas Miracle” event in Daugavpils for several years—bringing attention, activities and help to children who have faced serious life challenges.
Our community engagement has also extended beyond the Baltics. We gifted the city of Lida in Belarus a historic monument of Grand Duke Gediminas of Lithuania. We have also been a key supporter of social infrastructure projects, including the Centre for Autistic Children in Minsk, as well as secondary schools and nurseries in Lida—helping maintain facilities and improve access to specialised support for children with disabilities. In addition, we joined Vera Help Centre initiatives by providing festive gifts for children.
Yukon Group has also supported public safety and youth development projects, including assistance to the Belarusian Society for Water Rescue through the donation of more than 100 daytime binoculars in 2019, and later support for organising the Gediminas Cup, a regional children’s judo tournament.
Promoting culture
We believe culture strengthens communities and should be accessible to as many people as possible. Yukon has supported a range of cultural events and initiatives, including the Sirenų Theatre Festival, which brought contemporary global theatre to Lithuanian audiences and helped Lithuanian theatre reach wider international attention. We also supported local cultural life through initiatives such as the Druskininkai Summer Theatre Festival (SANKRYŽA) and ballroom dance activities at the Lida District Palace of Culture.
Supporting people and communities is central to how we understand CSR. By investing in employees, responding to societal challenges, helping those most in need and supporting culture, Yukon Group seeks to make a positive, long-term contribution to society.
