On June 11, 2025, Pulsar Optics SIA, a member of Yukon Group and a key industrial player in Latvia’s Latgale region, had the honour of welcoming a delegation from the European Commission, led by Executive Vice-President Raffaele Fitto. The visit was organised in response to an invitation from the Ministry of Smart Administration and Regional Development of the Republic of Latvia.
The purpose of the delegation’s visit was to deepen its understanding of the European Union’s Eastern border regions, to explore initiatives for enhancing regional security and economic resilience, and to engage directly with local industry stakeholders who are actively contributing to regional development.
During their visit to Pulsar Optics, the delegation was received by Ms Volha Alsheuskaya, CEO of Yukon Group, who introduced the guests to the company’s operations, its role within the Latgale Special Economic Zone, and its ongoing development projects supported by European Union funding mechanisms.
This high-level visit represents significant recognition of Pulsar Optics’ long-standing contribution to the economic and technological advancement of the Latgale region. Over the years, the company has consistently drawn the attention of Latvian government officials and now continues to gain visibility at the European level.
Joining Vice-President Fitto were Mr Valdis Dombrovskis, European Commissioner for Economy and Productivity, and Ms Inga Bērziņa, Latvia’s Minister of Smart Administration and Regional Development. The visit also included several other strategic sites within the region, along with policy discussions concerning potential future EU support instruments aimed at strengthening border regions.
