Pulsar Optics Latvia has achieved significant recognition as one of the most important industrial enterprises in Daugavpils, playing a crucial role in enhancing Latvia’s national export performance.

A recent analysis conducted by Luminor Bank, focusing on the dynamics of Latvia’s export sector, underscores this achievement. While Riga was identified as the primary export hub of the country, the study also highlighted the importance of Daugavpils and specifically noted the substantial impact of Pulsar Optics Latvia. The company’s operations have been recognized as having the most significant influence on the region’s exports, establishing it as a leader in this domain.

The report specifically mentions the impressive growth in the electronics sector, where exports surged by 28% last year. This growth is largely attributed to the development of communication equipment manufacturers in Riga and, “as well as the rapid increase in the volume of operations of the company “Pulsar Optics” operating in Daugavpils”.

Pēteris Strautiņš, the economist of Luminor Bank, points out that the engineering industry has also grown on the Latgale side – in Līvāni and Daugavpils.

“In Livonia, that story is quite well known and very nice. Very beautiful for a long time – for the production of optical fiber. On the other hand, there is also progress in Daugavpils, and this is largely related to the arrival of one Lithuanian company – “Pulsar optics”. A few years ago it was not there at all – zero -, now it is already one of the most important industrial enterprises of the city.”
